Megan Kress has been involved with dragon boating for 16 years. She has raced with high performance crews in the United States, Canada and China. Megan holds a Level I and Level II Coaching Certificate with Dragon Boat Canada.
She has been the coach of the Duluth, MN's Blue Water Paddling for 12 years, and coaches St. Paul's Dragon Divas, a BCS team with more than 60 members for the last 4 years.
In 2013, Megan joined the coaching staff of the national team, Team USA for competition at the IDBF World Championships in Hungary. She worked as the assistant coach with Team USA Senior A (40+) Women to bring home 4 medals (2 Silver, 2 Bronze) in 4 events, a program record. In 2016 she joined the Team USA coaching staff again as Senior A Women's Assistant Coach for the 2015 IDBF World Championships held in Welland, Ontario.
Megan has spent a lifetime on the water. Some of her highlights are guiding wilderness trips in the BWCA/Quetico, instructing sea kayaking on the Great Lakes, guiding paddle trips to Greenland, and paddling the northern rivers of Nunavut, Manitoba and Ontario.
