Millions have joined us across the globe in choosing dragon boating as not only a way to be active, but as a way to take part in the camaraderie, friendship and support that the dragon boat community fosters.
We now take a moment to celebrate and give tribute to those dragons that have chosen this sport we love post cancer diagnosis and treatment. It is these brave men and woman who keep us positive, strong-spirited, and determined to live on.
It is in their spirit that we care for one another and keep the energy and talk inside our boats positive each and every time we come together as one on the water.
For those brothers and sisters, that have passed, and in their honour, we now observe a moment of silence in memory of them. In memory of their strength, courage, and in the joy these memories of them fill us with. Let these memories fuel us as we continue to train, grow stronger, and race with them in spirit!
ON BEING A CHAMPION
A champion is a winner, A hero...
Someone who never gives up Even when the going gets rough.
A champion is a member of A winning team...
Someone who overcomes challenges Even when it requires creative solutions.
A champion is an optimist.
A hopeful spirit...
Someone who plays the game, Even when the game is called life...
Especially when the game is called life.
There can be a champion in each of us, If we live as a winner,
If we live as a member of the team, If we live with a hopeful spirit,
